This study aims to describe the teacher's strategies in shaping the disciplinary behavior of fourth-grade students through the implementation of rewards and punishments at Muhammadiyah 1 Elementary School in Pekanbaru. The background of the research is based on the discipline problems observed among students, such as tardiness and incomplete assignments, which highlight the need for effective educational strategies. A qualitative approach was employed using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques involving teachers, the principal, and students. The results show that teachers applied a combination of positive reinforcement strategies such as verbal praise, small gifts and educational punishments, such as additional tasks, which proved effective in shaping students’ discipline. Supporting factors included cooperation among school stakeholders, while obstacles involved students' lack of awareness and external environmental influences. The study concludes that a consistent and wise application of rewards and punishments contributes significantly to fostering student discipline and promoting a positive and conducive learning environment.
