Karang Taruna plays a crucial role in community development at the regional level, particularly in South Sumatra. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the role of Karang Taruna and how it contributes to community development in South Sumatra. Using a qualitative approach, the study explores various Karang Taruna activities, such as local economic empowerment programs, skills training and education, and efforts to build solidarity and partnerships within the community. The results indicate that Karang Taruna has a positive impact, both in strengthening social networks, improving the quality of life of residents, and developing existing local potential. This study confirms that Karang Taruna plays a crucial role in advancing the people of South Sumatra. Through various economic empowerment programs, training, and strengthening solidarity, this organization is able to make a real contribution to regional progress. By continuously upholding the organization's core values and encouraging members to actively participate, Karang Taruna can become a strategic partner for the government and other institutions in regional development. It is hoped that the results of this study will raise awareness of the importance of Karang Taruna's role, as well as encourage program improvements, strengthening collaboration with various agencies, and developing the organization's role in efforts to improve the welfare of the people of South Sumatra in a sustainable manner.
