The growth of the Internet in Indonesia is happening quickly. The Internet attracts interest from people who are keen on computers.Recently, the number of Internet users has been rising rapidly, expanding with the shift toward digital transformation. Information technology has moved into all areas, including business, as it offers easy communication and access to information. However, this development has also led to some negative effects, particularly an increase in cybercrime. The findings highlight efforts to protect consumers through preventive, repressive, and solution-based methods, as well as alternative dispute resolution options in both litigation and non-litigation contexts. This way, the legal protection of consumers using e-commerce platforms for online shopping can be ensured by adhering to regulations governing electronic trade, especially on social media e-commerce platforms.
