Providing reinforcement is one of the fundamental teaching skills that plays a crucial role in making the classroom learning process effective and conducive. Reinforcement from teachers provides incentives for students to become active and confident, as well as motivating them to participate in learning activities. However, in reality, many teachers are still unable to provide varied and optimal reinforcement during the learning process. The purpose of this study is to examine teachers’ skills in providing reinforcement during the learning process at the elementary school level. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method employing observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. This study uses teachers and students involved in learning activities at the Islamic elementary school level as research subjects. The research location is Al Ba'yah Islamic Elementary School, located in Sepaso Barat Village, Bengalon Subdistrict, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province. From the results above, it is evident that there are several instances where teachers provide verbal and non-verbal reinforcement to their students, such as offering praise, smiles, nods, and even small gifts to students who actively participate in class. This approach has proven quite effective in increasing engagement, fostering self-confidence, and creating a positive learning environment at SDI Al-Ba’yah Bengalon. Therefore, these teaching skills need to be continuously improved so that the learning process becomes more meaningful.
