The rising unemployment rate among the educated in the workissng-age population and the increasingly fierce job competition in the modern era are the primary reasons for the importance of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in the younger generation. This study was conducted to examine in depth how an entrepreneurial mindset influences students’ courage in making decisions to start and develop a business from a young age. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using phenomenological methods to understand the real-life experiences and thought processes of students engaged in business activities during their college years. The research was conducted at the Indonesia University of Education, involving business education students who have been running their own businesses as the primary informants. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observations of business managerial activities, and documentation related to the informants’ business development. Data validity was achieved through source triangulation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, thematic grouping, and inductive conclusion-drawing. The results of the study indicate that an entrepreneurial mindset has a significant impact on students’ mental preparedness to face the risks and uncertainties of the business world. The ability to identify market opportunities, the courage to make decisions, and mental resilience in the face of business obstacles are key factors determining the sustainability of student-run businesses. This study also found a role conflict between academic obligations and business operational demands, which often causes psychological stress for students. To cope with this situation, students employ various adaptive coping strategies, such as time management, the use of digital technology, and seeking social support from their surroundings. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of educational psychology and entrepreneurship education by emphasizing the importance of fostering a business mindset, independent thinking, and psychological readiness among students to face modern economic challenges.
