This study examines the role of the Kajang Ammatoa tribe's local wisdom in supporting environmental protection through the lens of legal policy in Indonesia, particularly in the era of globalization characterized by increasing natural resource exploitation. The Kajang Ammatoa indigenous community upholds values that emphasize simplicity and adherence to customary rules designed to maintain ecological balance. These values constitute a form of local wisdom that is relevant for integration into the national legal system, especially within the realm of environmental law. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a normative analysis of legislation and literature concerning local wisdom. The findings indicate that recognizing and integrating Ammatoa customary values can strengthen environmental protection policies in Indonesia, primarily through the synergy between state law and customary law.
