This study aims to determine the maintenance and management strategies of Kresek Monument as an effort to preserve local cultural heritage and identify challenges in its development. This study used a qualitative method through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that maintenance was carried out through physical and non-physical approaches. Physical maintenance included routine cleaning, inspections, facility repairs, repainting, and environmental maintenance. Non-physical efforts included historical education, cultural preservation, traditional activities, and collaboration among managers, government, and schools. However, several challenges remain, including limited funding, inadequate facilities, low visitor awareness, and limited understanding of historical values among younger generations. Therefore, stronger management, improved historical education, and stakeholder support are needed to preserve Kresek Monument as a local cultural heritage and historical tourism site.
