Abstrak

Explanation skills are a fundamental competency that prospective teachers must possess when conducting microteaching. These skills play a crucial role in delivering instructional content in a way that is clear, structured, and engaging for students. This article aims to analyze the skill of explaining as a core competency in microteaching through a literature review. The discussion focuses on two main aspects: the nature and components of the skill of explaining in microteaching, and the role of this skill in the effectiveness of microteaching implementation. The results of the study indicate that explanatory skills encompass the ability to present material systematically, the use of communicative language, appropriate intonation, the provision of relevant examples, and an emphasis on key points in the lesson. Furthermore, these skills contribute to enhancing students’ understanding, fostering an active learning environment, and boosting the confidence of student teachers. Therefore, explanatory skills must be optimally developed in microteaching activities.
