This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum based on love in improving the character of students at Madrasah Aliyah Roudlotut Tholibin. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study consisted of the principal, teachers, and students of Madrasah Aliyah Roudlotut Tholibin. The results showed that the implementation of the love-based Merdeka Curriculum was carried out through humanistic learning approaches, strengthening religious values, exemplary behavior, and effective communication between teachers and students. The implementation of this curriculum had a positive impact on improving students’ character, including discipline, responsibility, politeness, social awareness, and religious attitudes. Supporting factors included teacher commitment and a conducive madrasah environment, while the inhibiting factors were limited facilities and differences in students’ character backgrounds. Therefore, the implementation of the love-based Merdeka Curriculum can be considered effective in strengthening student character education in madrasah environments.
