The rapid development of the horror genre in the Indonesian horror film industry now often features mystical elements that are no longer considered sacred, but only as entertainment (Desacralization). This research wants to find out how teenagers understand the mystical elements in horror films that have changed like that, and how families help them to be psychologically strong to deal with feelings of fear after watching. This research uses observation, interview, and documentation on teenagers who like watching horror movies and their families. As a result, although teenagers like watching horror movies, they sometimes feel excessive fear, insomnia, and fear that continues in their daily lives. The family is very important to accompany and help teenagers to regulate their feelings of fear and become stronger. This study suggests that families and teachers can help adolescents choose good shows and grow into strong individuals despite this entertainment culture.
